No, create an account now. I originally was going to get a normal aquarium hood/top from the pet store and mod it. Using the site is easy and fun. anything above the 1060 is kind of a no-go in my eyes.
I'm still not sure what to get though. I already have the case, power supply, and hard drives since the trigger for this upgrade is that my old mobo recently crashed and burned... I'd change that HDD from Seagate, though. I've been considering the parts listed below, but, I'm a bit apprehensive, thinking the processor and/or motherboard won't be happy with even the most current Linux distros (as of 10/11/16) So,

And I totally agree on the 1070 being overkill with you - I do not think I mentioned it in the op but it does not matter. So that setup will give you at least 440MH/s.Drop it to 1GB of ram and a single-core Sempron processor to save money if you're really desperate.

I heard Dx10 coming out next year with Vista wont be backward compatible so Dx9 card can't play any Dx10 game and have to be emulate with software. I.e. and Thank you.
