- If these are set incorrect then weird things happen.
- When using the nlite I also included the intel chip drivers for my Gateway MX6214.
- After googling a while I thought it had to be the SATA / AHCI issue.

- The MBR is always located at the first sector so the BIOS can find it.
- I have tried the MBR fix and several other documented "standard MS" recovery without success.

I tried looking for a work around with a bootable USB XP install but, no go, all my USB devices don't support booting. You keep holding it down while a few things flow by on the screen, and then the opening menu of Setup comes up. As long as your motherboard has both SATA and IDE connections available and you set the switches on the drive appropriately, it should work! Check This Out it worked.
