The best way to rule out firewall issues is to turn off every firewall on every computer.
- I had enabled file and print sharing in the firewall, but it made no difference.
- I can see each machine from each machine on my network page.
- my remaining error is that acces denied :D BTW its ok...
- And it is fast.
- I can not get print share to work between the two Op sys's.
- However one of the xp machines has most of the files we use on a shared drive.

I'm guessing, since I'm switching LAN's quite often for my work, Win Vista got some garbage stuck in it's cache somewhere, and now it's creating problems. but the computers don't see each other.
