A friend told me to only use 1 memory ram at a time (I currently have 2) to see if that memory is the problem.
Also i couldnt find out if this version of vista is the 32 or 64 bit, its not on any stickers and obviously i cant get into the computer to find Therefore, upon booting, select to immediately have access to the BIOS in order to reselect the configuration settings you had before the whole process; i) as expected, Windows will boot without Pretty much anything else and after around 5 minutes or so, the dreaded BSOD would appear. I did not notice anything in the BIOS about a HPET feature. duh. Hence, we had to make a call to good ol Dell technical support. Join the community here, it only takes a minute.

I tried the fix and walla!! I would perform the Vista memory diagnostic in order to rule out the memory ( http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/using-vista-windows-memory-diagnostics-tool/ ). I have done plenty of bios updates before on previous mb's and other devices, so I am comfortable in doing that procedure.
