My Dell Vostro Shuts Off Randomly When Connected To Modem


I also had this problem on a Windows 7 computer which had been operating fine for months. My laptop had a problem over last summer and a similar screen had poped up like the Activate Desktop. EDIT 2 (1 Feb 2010): In my quest to solve this problem, I have discovered some more interesting information. Lift up the keyboard, press on the video card so it makes a better connection and turn on the laptop while you are still pressing on the card. It was not making a connection and I fooled with it and made it worse.
