User.dat File


in my root folder of C:\drive, about 6 of them, and strangely enough, some are on D:\ drive, about 5 of them. See here and here. There is one system, so there is one system.dat, located in c:\windows.There can be multiple users (profiles), and every user has his own user.dat. So you need to reorganise the registry, as I indicated in my post above using /fix or /opt in scanreg. click site

Ntuser.dat Delete

In a reply to a message here, press the key combination Ctrl+v to paste it in. Once all the entries have been found that contain what you typed, a box will appear that says ''finished searching the registry''. It might contain MRU (most recently used) entries which can be files on your PC such as images that were viewed with specific programs.

You just need to know where you saved them your documents so as not to lose them. It's an unused part of the file, and the only way you can still see it is by the search you do. You don't want to remove users from the PC. By deleting Ntuser.dat on a user account, the user removes all settings for that account and may cause it to become corrupted or stop working altogether.
