There was no other solution for IE8 as it seems to render the replacement image element always on top of the background of the generated content no matter what you do.

I'm using an old Dell Dimension 4600 desktop, intel pentium 4 3.06 GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, with windows XP SP3. None of these appeared to work, but discovered what might have caused the problem. I've been searching everywhere to get IE fixed to no avail.
